Will we still need to use aida64 or hwinfo64 for sensors or will the new program support this?

It starts with the same sensors support GOverlay has, but with newer versions when possible.
So you can use without any external app, the OpenHardwareMonitor and LibreHardwareMonitor sensors. If those sensors are not enough, you can as always use an external app like HWiNFO, SIV or AIDA64

Will GOverlay Plus support the HWinfo plug-in immediately?

Are all previous plug-ins backwards compatible with GOverlay Plus?

we do have the HWiNFO plugin migrated, so it will work out of the box.
Previous plugins are not compatible but im migrating them, right now we have COH2, COH3 and HWiNFO, let me know if you are using a different one from GOverlay and i will prioritize it on the migration
